BRAND'S® actually originated from the United Kingdom

BRAND'S® isn’t a Singapore brand? Most locals have grown up drinking from the iconic green bottle, but it was actually first invented in the United Kingdom. In 1835, King George was weak and losing his appetite, so H.W. Brand (where the name came from), a chef at Buckingham Palace, brewed a concoction of concentrated chicken essence to help rejuvenate his king. P.S. That also means what you’re drinking today is literally a drink worthy of royalty!

BRAND'S® was a legit medicine for all kinds of sicknesses


When Mr. Brand retired in the same year, the royal chef recreated the brew for public and it quickly became the miracle cure for illnesses big and small. Whether a flu, tummy-ache, or if you’re just ‘off-colour’, a bottle of BRAND'S® seemed to do the trick. It even became the doctor’s choice when all else fails and patients simply had no strength to consume any other food!

Fun fact: BRAND'S® came to Singapore during the World War II and acutely ill soldiers were found to recover extremely quickly after drinking the Essence of Chicken (likely because the nutrients broken down during the manufacturing process were easier to be absorbed by patients).
